Recently, Highway 111 took 23 people to Tennessee/Georgia for our first ever Awake and Alive Experience. This trip was packed full of adventurous obstacles and new boundaries being tested.
One of the activities included the students taking on white water rafting. The water was cold, rough, and fast, but only claimed 1 of our students during the 3 hour water experience. (Luckily we were able to reel Jakeb Rowe back in before he floated away.) It was loads of fun, and the kids took on the rapids without fear.
The 2nd part of the trip was going on our personal Zip Line Tour. The group had to overcome the fears of heights and being suspended from their harness. They all took it on like champs. With lots of teamwork and encouragement, we were able to zip from 9 different lines and maneuver ourselves across 3 shaky bridges.
God is Alive and active. It’s trips like this that brings Christ followers together to accomplish great things. Thanks to all who came and participated. It was an unforgettable trip. Looking forward to next year!
