Want to be great? Serve!

Recap of what happened Sunday Night:

Do you want to be great? Then go serve!

42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”                    Mark 10:42-45

True leadership is servanthood, and the greatest leader of all time is Jesus Christ. The Bible has a great deal to say about servanthood because the central theme of the Bible is the Servant of all—Jesus Christ. If you desire to be a positive leader…serve.

We were excited to have Marty Corey, director of Open Arms Ministries, come and talk to us about the importance of Highway 111 doing Local Missions every summer. He described the project as a “blessing” by saving Open Arms $5,000 because of the teams placing new roofs on the buildings. They were then able to allocate those funds elsewhere to do more ministry. Continuing with what happened on Sunday night, we played a rousing game of spoons… very aggressive, a little blood was shed, but the winners were determined. Check the game out here: Spoons!

The wall Mural is coming together. Be sure to come and be a part of the mural. The question we are asking is what makes you unique? What makes you different and special?

We meet every Sunday night from 6-8pm. Hope to see you there!
